Awards

• Honored for community service in working with students with learning disabilities and their families by the South Pasadena Unified School District Board, 1994.
• Honored for community service in the annual career day workshop at South Pasadena High School, 1993.

Volunteer Committees

• Member of the South Pasadena Unified School District Board Special Education Task Force, 2002-2004.
• Chair of the Educational Committee of the South Pasadena Mental Health Network (SPMHN). 
• Lead educational groups for parents of LD students in the South Pasadena Unified School District, 1995.
• The SPMHN was the recipient of the Golden Apple award for contributions to the South Pasadena Unified School District during my tenure, 1995. Member of the Educational Committee of the SPMHN.  Provided educational groups for parents of LD students in the South Pasadena Unified School District, 1993-1997.
• Member of the Police Committee of the SPMHN.  Provided training for the South Pasadena Police Department in a number of areas, 1993-1997.

Community Workshops

• I have run numerous local and national workshops and in-services for both professionals and parents in the following areas:  factors related to success for individuals with learning disabilities, attention disorders, adolescent development, how children respond to death and dying, and coping and stress management.
• I have gave numerous informal presentations at many local colleges including USC, Caltech, and Occidential College on Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and Transition Issues.
